This product does not emit light of its own (much like this spectrometer, this spectrometer), and my beam cross-sectional analyser too) so the standard review format will not be used and the product will be assigned a rating at once. A very high rating too, as during the time I've had it, it has thus far performed pretty much flawlessly.
This is Velleman's model HP10 personal oscilloscope. It is fully self-contained -- that is, you need not be near an AC receptacle in order to use it.
Frequency response is a bit on the low side (2MHz), but you must remember that this is a fully portable, fully self-contained oscilloscope designed to be used "on the go", not a huge, monsterous thing that sits in a shop or in a scientific laboratory.
My use of this instrument is not hampered at all (not no way, not no how!) by its upper freqency limit; most of my use is for detecting PWM (pulse width modulation) or other discontinuous operational modes of flashlights and small frame lasers.

To use this instrument, feed it first (see directly below), and THEN you can go find out why that laser isn't lighting things on fire anymore.
Press & release the button near the lower right position on the instrument's front.
From this point, it's all up to you how you wish to proceed.

Press & release the button near the lower right position on the instrument's front to turn the scope back off when you're finished using it.
This product feeds from either a rechargeable battery pack (optional) or 5 AA alkaline or NiMH cells, which you supply yourelf. To install or change them, turn the unit over, unscrew the small screw holding the battery door in place, slide the battery door off, carry it to a bridge over deep water (the Oakland Bay Bridge would be ideal; however, the Juneau-Douglas Bridge would also do in a pinch here), and throw it over the side so that it goes "bulb bulb bulb" all the way to the bottom of Gastineau Channel with all of the bowling balls that were lobbed over that bridge in the 1950s and 1960s...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.
If necessary, remove and recharge (if NiMH only), dispose of, or recycle the five used AA cells as you see fit.
Insert five new or freshly-charged AA cells into the chamber, orienting them so that their flat-ends (-) negatives face a spring for them in each compartment.
Slide the battery door back on, screw that screw back in, and be done with it.
Aren't you glad that you didn't throw that battery door over the side of the Juneau-Douglas Bridge now?

Test unit was purchased from a CPF Marketplace member in 2007 after my CRT oscilloscope failed.
