The Flashlight / Stun Gun is exactly what you think it is based upon the product's name: MULTIFUNCTION SELF DEFENSE FLASHLIGHT

It is an unusually intense 3-mode flashlight that has a "shocking" secret: a powerful stun gun that can be used to neutralise an attacker.

The flashlight portion features a high-power phosphor white LED near the bottom of a mirror-smooth reflector; these are protected by a transparent, fairly thick plastic window.

The product comes in a beefy, metal & plastic body -- the parts carrying the high voltage charge and the tailcap are made of plastic; the rest of the flashlight is an enamel-coated metal.

According to the packaging materials, this is part number
CH59BL.

To use the Flashlight / Stun Gun as a flashlight, look on the barrel for a "capsule-shaped" slider. Slide it forward to turn the flashlight on, and slide it backward (toward the tailcap) to neutralise it.

To get the additional modes, just turn the flashlight back on and it will come on in its next mode.

Stun gun functionality in this product cannot be tested because that mode is not operational in this sample.

The battery inside the Flashlight / Stun Gun is rechargeable, so I do not have to tell you which part to remove, kick under the bed with all of those hungry silverfish that need to go poddy, and then rather emphatically tell you not to.

Plug the small end of the furnished charging cord into the female receptacle for it on the flashlight's tailcap, and plug the larger end into any common (in the US and Canada anyway) 110 volts to 130 volts AC 60Hz receptacle.

A red LED on the tailcap should now come on.

When this LED turns off, you may safely unplug both ends of the charge cable, and there, all done.

This is a stun gun with inbuilt flashlight, not a standalone flashlight meant to be bashed, thrashed, trashed, and abused. So I won't throw it against the wall, stomp on it, try to drown it in the toilet bowl, run over it, swing it against the corner of a concrete stair, or inflict upon it punishments that flashlights may have inflicted upon them. So this section of the Flashlight / Stun Gun's web page will seem a bit more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.

Having said that, it did flunk "The Suction Test" that I gave it; it leaked air quite handily around all three switches (esp. the one on the tailcap) and around the bezel. So you'll most definitely want to keep this guy far away from water -- and please cover it (such as by putting it in a pocket or a lidded bag) if you need to carry it in foul weather.

Electricity and water seldom play well together anyway -- especially high voltage electricity that this product is designed to generate, so it would behoove you to keep it dry at all costs!!!

I *WILL* however, perform "The Drop Test" on it because everybody drops a flashlight every now and again...
Ok after 5 drops onto concrete from chest-height (~4 feet {~1.22M}) there is some visible damage to the unit.

1: Four of the six stun gun electrodes are noticeably pushed in.
2: The tailcap has partially disengaged from the barrel.
3: There is some minor gouging of the metal on the barrel where it impacted the concrete.

The flashlight continues to function properly; the stun gun still does not.
This test is not about seeing external damage; rather its purpose is to see if the circuitry inside can withstand the momentary shock load (G-force) of impact with a hard surface.

A beam cross-sectional analysis would normally appear here, but the ProMetric System
that I use for that test was destroyed by lightning in mid-July 2013.

EPILEPSY WARNING FOR FLASHING LIGHTS!!!
A brief video showing the three operational modes.

Flashing is much more regular than this video shows.

TEST NOTES:
Test unit was purchased on Ebay on 02-03-21 and was received at 1:58pm PST on 02-06-21.

The "stun gun" portion of this product was DOA, but the "flashlight" portion of this product appears to function properly, so it will be evaluated on its merits as a flashlight only. It, however, will not receive a "star" rating because it was defective but still partially operational.
