The Flameless Dual Arc Electric Lighter (hereinafter, probably just called a, "lighter" on this web page) is a product designed to light tobacco products.
Instead of fuel like butane or Ronsonol lighter fluid, this lighter uses an electric arc as its heat source!
Its internal battery is rechargeable, so you never have to worry about finding disposable batteries for it.
A pulsed DC (pulse rep rate estimated approx. 20Hz) arc estimated at ~4,000 volts jumps between a quartet of electrodes spaced approx. 0.45cm (4.50mm) apart; this creates a plasma that's hot enough to ignite paper and dried tobacco -- the stuff that cigarettes are made from but you should be able to also light candles (tapers anyway) with it if the wick can be placed in the arc.
In my opinion, the best use of this lighter is for lighting cigarrettes and possibly cigarrilos (small-diameter cigars usually equipped with a plastic mouthpiece).
SIZE
To use the lighter, flip open the lid as you would on a Zippo lighter, and press & hold the silvery rectangular button located on the front surface of the lighter just below the portion of the lighter where the lid swings up.
Place the "business-end" of your cigarrette directly into the arc, and puff on the cigarette.
When you're all fired up, release the buttoon, pull the lighter down from your smoke and swing the lid closed.
If the lid is opened and left open for five (5) seconds, the entire lighter will shut down.
That is, the blue LED backlight will turn off and pressing the ignition button will do nothing. I believe that this is a safety feature, so that the lighter cannot be discharged into a pocket or purse should something cause the lid to flip up.
If you put your finger(s) in the lighter's "business end" while it is operating, you'll receive a very nasty shock, but the current flowing between the electrodes is far too low to convert you into worm food (or fish food if your final wishes are to be creamated).
I deliberately zapped my index finger -- it was SIGNIFICATLY stronger than the shock that I received from the Salcar Double-Arc Electric Lighter. It was a somewhat strong "tingly" "zap" sensation with a bit of a "stabbing" sensation; approximately the same intensity that you might receive by putting your fingers into a live 120VAC 60Hz (North American household power) light socket.
This lighter is rechargeable, so I don't have to tell you which part to remove and huck into mouse hole so that a doormouse gets all piddled-off at it, goes poddy on it in anger, and then rather emphatically tell you not to.
To charge its internal battery, plug the larger end of the included "stubby" (short) charger cable into any available USB port on your pee-cee or Mac, and plug the smaller end into the female receptacle on the bottom of the lighter. If it does not fit in the receptacle, turn the plug 180° and plug it up again.
The blue backlight on the LCD will now come on, and a number will be displayed, which I believe indicates the percent to full power.
When the blue backlight turns off, you may safely unplug the charger cable from both the lighter and the computer.
I tested how many "siggerets" can be fired up on a fully-charged battery, and came up with 51 successful "lights" -- the test is still running though.
I expect to see this value increase as the battery is conditioned (goes through at least several full charge/discharge cycles).
I tested how many "siggerets" can be fired up a second time, and came up with 58 successful "lights".
I tested how many "siggerets" can be fired up a third time, and came up with 62 successful "lights".
I tested how many "siggerets" can be fired up a fourth time, and came up with 71 successful "lights".
I tested how many "siggerets" can be fired up a fifth time, and came up with 73 successful "lights".
I once again tested how many "siggerets" can be fired up a sixth time, and came up with 78 successful "lights".
This lighter has a counter that counts how many "lights" you get -- actually it increments every time you push the button even briefly.
It also has a battery guage on the left side of its LCD; this will give you a "baseball park" estimate of how much power remains. There are four short bars inside of a "battery-shaped" frame; each bar indicates 25%.
This lighter is meant to be used as a cigarette lighter, not as a flashlight meant to be carried around all the time, thrashed, and abused; so I won't throw it against the wall, stomp on it, try to drown it in the {vulgar slang term for a fudge bunny}bowl or the cistern, run over it, swing it against the concrete floor of a patio, bash it open to check it for candiosity, fire it from the cannoñata (I guess I've been watching the TV program "Viva Piñata" too much again - candiosity is usually checked with a scanner-type device on a platform with a large readout, with a handheld wand that Langston Lickatoad uses, or with a pack-of-cards-sized device that Fergy Fudgehog uses; and the cannoñata is only used to shoot piñatas to piñata parties away from picturesque Piñata Island), send it to the Daystrom Institute for additional analyses, or inflict upon it punishments that I might inflict upon a flashlight.
So this section of the Flameless Dual Arc Electric Lighter's web page will be significantly more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.
The Flameless Dual Arc Electric Lighter can produce a small quantity of ozone (O3; which is a molecule composed of three oxygen atoms) if the arc is blown onto fairly sharply with your other hand cupped around the top of the product; this compound is easily detectable using your sense of stinkSMELL.
The distance between electrode pairs was measured at 5.30mm.

Spectrographic analysis of the LED backlight in the lighter.
Spectrographic analysis of the LED backlight in the lighter; spectrometer's response narrowed to a band between 450nm and 470nm to pinpoint peak wavelength, which is 463.15nm.
The raw spectrometer data (tab-delimited that can be loaded into Excel) is at usbl3.txt

O BOY! A LIGHTER BEING USED FOR WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED FOR!

Actually, it kinda "maiks" "ewe" "wontt" "tu" "kik" "ovorr" "won" "uv" "thoz" "Penile-Whear®" "liggecher-rezistent" "prizen" "commbies" "ahnd" "thenn" "pruhseed" "tu" "bete" "thuh" "livengg" "tweadle" "owt" "uv" "itt" "withh" "uhn "olde" "orr" "uzed" "harebrusche" doesn't it?
TEST NOTES:
Test unit was ordered on Ebay on 04-08-21 and was received on the early-afternoon of 04-14-21.
UPDATE: 06-14-21
For just under one day yesterday, the lighter's LCD functioned properly.
However, it ceased functioning again by mid-afternoon.
UPDATE: 06-15-21
Yesterday morning, the LCD inexplicably began to function properly again.
UPDATE: 06-16-21
Brief video showing how the LCD has "locked up".
See how the counter stays at 56 even after multiple actuations? It should increment by one each time the lighter is ignited but it no longer does.
UPDATE: 09-29-21
On my way to fly a drone just after sunset on 09-27-21, the lighter fell out of my pocket somewhere along the 1.25 mile (2.01km) trip to my flying venue.
Therefore, the always-dreadful, "" icon will be appended to its listings at once.
Shame too; I really did like this lighter.
I precisely retraced my path yesterday morning when the Sun was up, and came up empty.
