SPECTRA OF BLUE-GREEN LASERS
This web page will be for nothing but spectra of lasers.
Ocean Optics USB2000 Spectrometer donated by P.L.
As of 10-10-07, I've been using a PC2000-ISA Spectrometer from Ocean Optics that I received several years ago, but that I didn't have a home for until now.
As of 03-08-08, I once again have the USB2000 spectrometer, enabling color spectra again.
LASERS (or "LAZERS" if you prefer to be incorrect):
Spectrographic analysis of the replacement Directly-Injected 5mW 488nm Greenish-Blue ("cyan") Laser Pen after several hours of lasing.
Spectrographic analysis of the replacement Directly-Injected 5mW 488nm Greenish-Blue ("cyan") Laser Pen after several hours of lasing; spectrometer's response narrowed to a band between 485nm and 495nm to pinpoint wavelength, which is 489.410nm -- same as before.
The raw spectrometer data (tab-delimited that can be loaded into Excel) is at 488poi3.txt

Spectrographic analysis of the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser; newest (01-13-13) spectrometer software & settings used.
Spectrographic analysis of the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser (using newest {01-13-13} spectrometer software & settings); spectrometer's response narrowed to a band between 488nm and 491nm to pinpoint wavelength, which appears to be 489.760nm. Wavelength tolerance for the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser is +-10nm, so it is ***WELL*** within manufacturer's specs.
The raw spectrometer data (comma-delimited that can be loaded into Excel) is at http://www.tllm.site//42/novalux.txt
Post-adjustment spectrographic analysis of the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser.
Post-adjustment spectrographic analysis of the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser; spectrometer's response narrowed to a range between 475nm and 495nm to pinpoint wavelength, which appears to be 489.80nm.
Post-adjustment spectrographic analysis of the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser to check for NIR emission from the pump diode; none was detected.
Output power when these spectra were taken was measured at 3.633mW.
Spectrographic analysis of the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser.
Spectrographic analysis of the Novalux Laser 2000 Protera Model 488-15 Blue-Green Laser; spectrometer's response narrowed to a range between 475nm and 495nm.
Spectrographic analysis of the Spectra-Physics 161B-060 Air-Cooled Argon Ion Laser.
Spectrographic analysis of the Spectra-Physics 161B-060 Air-Cooled Argon Ion Laser; spectrometer's response range narrowed to a band between 478nm and 498nm to help pinpoint wavelength. Color was left "on" because the trendline (thin red line) was still easily visible.
Spectrographic analysis of the Spectra-Physics 161B-060 Air-Cooled Argon Ion Laser; newer software settings used.
Spectrographic analysis of the Spectra-Physics 161B-060 Air-Cooled Argon Ion Laser; spectrometer's response range narrowed to a band between 478nm and 498nm to help pinpoint wavelength.
Do you manufacture or sell an LED flashlight, task light, utility light, or module of some kind?
Want to see it tested by a real person, under real working conditions? Do you then want to see how your light did? If you have a sample available for this type of
real-world, real-time testing, please contact me at bdf1111@yahoo.com.
