The Nexxtech light is a small light that snaps directly onto any ordinary rectangular 9 volt transistor radio battery.

It has an orange LED in it, powered by any common 9 volt rectangular transistor radio battery that you furnish. It snaps directly on top of the battery, making it essentially a one-piece affair.

The Nexxtech light needs to be attached to a rectangular 9 volt transistor radio battery before you can use it, so do that (see below), and then you can go to town.

On the left top of the unit (as the LED is facing forward), slide the switch forward to light the LED, and slide it backward (toward you) to turn the LED off.

There is no momentary or signalling mode on this flashlight, so please do not look for or expect to find one.



To change the battery on the Nexxtech light, just unsnap the upper portion from the used battery itself, and dispose of or recycle the battery as you see fit.

Snap the Nexxtech light onto the terminals of a new 9V battery, orienting the light so its large terminal goes over the small terminal of the battery, and vice versa. Snap the light firmly onto the battery terminals so it clicks into place, and there, that's it.

Note that I did not advise you to stomp on or flush anything away here.

Due to the way this product was constructed, I am not able to furnish you with any current readings.

The Nexxtech light by itself does not appear to be submersible, but it should function adequately when wet or submerged. If it gets douched, just dry it off and it ought to be as good as new. If it fell in seawater or the dog lifted his leg on it, just douche it off under the faucet or take the garden hose to it and then let it dry off.

The LED is recessed in a hosel (think of the opening in a golf club head the shaft attaches to); and is surrounded by a reflector. This reflector appears to be mainly for cosmetic purposes, as it does not do very much to redirect the light.

Because the unit basically consists of a 9 volt battery with a cap over the end, the Nexxtech light is comfortable to hold and use. You can hold it in a "cigerette grip" (holding it between the index and middle fingers), an overhand or underhand grip, or whatever. There really is no uncomfortable way to hold the Nexxtech light.

And because of its rectangular shape, it won't roll away from you, no matter how uneven the surface you set it on is. This means you can also stand it on its side with the LED aimed up at the ceiling and allow its light to reflect off the ceiling to illuminate the room hands-free - assuming of course it's bright enough for you.

The beam consists of a medium flood with distinct rings around its perimeter. While this might be OK for an emergency flashlight, in my opinion, this is not desirable in a flashlight you would purposefully use every day.

Also in my opinion, the light generated by this product is unexpectedly dim - considering it is a fairly modern flashlight.
