This is a large, transparent cup with a handle that has a base with flashing LEDs in it that activate anytime the cup is moved. Its capacity appears to be approximately 24 ounces. You can put beer, pop, water, cool-aid, or any other cold liquid in it.

 SIZE

Feed the cup three AAA cells first (see directly below), and then you can go to town.

On the underside of the cup, you should see a circular white button. Press and release it to activate the circuit. The LEDs will come on anytime the cup is moved or used; staying on for ~22 seconds before turning off. The circuit will activate the LEDs anytime the cup is bumped or moved.

Press and release the button again to turn the circuit off.

*** VERY, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!! *** Always unscrew and remove the blue base before washing the cup!!! This base is NOT water-resistant, and something will probably become screwed up if it goes in the sink with the other dishes!!!
The cup itself is not dishwasher-safe; you'll need to handwash that when it needs to be washed.

Unscrew and remove the blue base from the cup. Set the cup itself aside.

Using a small phillips screwdriver (#0 or #00 should do the job here), unscrew and remove the two screws holding the battery door in the center of the unit. Remove the battery door, and set it aside.

Here is a photograph showing the inside of the blue base.

If necessary, remove and dispose of or recycle the three used AAA cells from the compartment.

Install three new AAA cells in the compartment, orienting the flat end (-) negative of each battery with the spring for it in each chamber.

Lay the battery door back on top of the compartment so the two little plastic tits on it face upward.

Screw in the two screws you removed earlier, screw the entire blue base back on the transparent cup, and be done with it.

Due to the way the product was assembled and how it functions, I am not able to furnish you with a current usage measurement.

This product is meant to be used as a drinking cup, not a flashlight meant to be carried around, thrashed, and abused, so I won't try to flush it down the toilet, bash it against a steel rod or the corner of a concrete stair, let my housemate's kitty go to the bathroom on it, run over it with a 400lb Rascal, or perform other indecencies that a regular flashlight might have to go through. So this section of the web page will appear significantly more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.

As a drinking cup, it appears to be more than reasonably sturdy, and won't just fall apart on you during normal use.

I know I already mentioned this, but I said it once and I'll say it again:
*** VERY, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT!!! *** Always unscrew and remove the blue base before washing the cup!!! This base is NOT water-resistant, and something will probably become screwed up if it goes in the sink with the other dishes!!!
The cup itself is not dishwasher-safe; you'll need to handwash that when it needs to be washed.

TEST NOTES:
Test unit was purchased on Ebay on 07-06-05, and was received on the afternoon of 07-09-05.

Product was made in China. A product's country of origin really does matter to some people, which is why I published it on this web page.
