The EL Novelty Eyeglasses were sent to me by a website fan, and arrived packaged in a plastic bag with a green hang tag with minimal information on it, so it took me a short time to figure out how to use them.

The EL Novelty Eyeglasses are remarkably easy to use; just flip the switch under the front of the left-hand earpiece to turn them on, and wear them like you might any ordinary eyeglasses.

Loops of flat EL (electroluminescent) wire on the front of the frames of the glasses light up in several different patterns and they have five different colors.

To use the EL Novelty Eyeglasses, just slide the switch under the left earpiece outward to the "on" position, and put them on as you would ordinary glasses.

Slide the little switch toward the middle (toward the nose bridge) to turn them off.

I had brain surgery in late-2002, so my eyes don't look right - that's why they're closed here.



To change the batteries, turn the glasses face-down, and place them on a couch, a bed, your lap, or other reasonably soft place. On the outer edge of the right-hand eye frame (where the lens would go in regular glasses), there is a rectangular compartment with a lid that you can pry off with a dull knife, such as a butterknife. Remove this lid, throw it to the ground, and stomp on it with old or used bowling shoes...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

Remove the used LR44 cells from the battery compartment, and dispose of or recycle them as you see fit.

Insert three new LR44 button cells into the compartment, orienting them so the button-end (-) negative faces the spring for it in the compartment.

Place the lid back over the compartment, and press straight down on it until it snaps into place.
Aren't you glad you didn't stomp on that little lid now?

Due to the way the product was constructed, I am not able to obtain a current measurement for you.



This is a pair of novelty light-up eyeglasses, not a flashlight meant to be carried around, thrashed, and abused. So I won't try to whack them against a steel rod or against the side of a concrete stair, stomp on them, try to drown them in a porcelain wall urinator, run over them, or inflict other punishments upon them that I might inflict upon a flashlight. So this section of its web page will be rather bare, when compared to this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.
