The ForeSight 1/2 Million Candlepower Flashlight (hereinafter, probably just called a "flashlight") is a small, tactical-style incandescent flashlight in an aluminum body. It is advertised to use a xenon-filled bulb, which is said to be less yellowish than krypton-filled or vacuum (vacume, vaccuumn, vaccuumm, vacumn, vaccuummnne, vaccuumme, etc.) incandescent bulbs.

The flashlight operates from two CR123A lithium cells, which should provide at least one hour of good light before starting to go down the {vulgar term for feces}bowl.

 SIZE

The flashlight is *almost* ready to use as soon as you remove it from the package. Install the included batteries (see directly below), and then you can go paint the town red.

Press the rubberised button on the tailcap and hold it that way to light the flashlight in momentary or signalling mode; release the button to turn the flashlight off.

Twist the tailcap clockwise (as if tightening it) approximately 1/6th of a turn to turn the flashlight on; twist the tailcap counterclockwise (as if loosening it) at least 1/6th of a turn to shut the flashlight off. This is continuous or hands-free mode.

A LOTC (Lock Out TailCap) mode is available by turning the tailcap one full turn counterclockwise from when the flashlight first turns on; this prevents the flashlight from becoming activated and wasting the batteries when it's packed in a box or bag for storage or transport.

To change the batteries, unscrew and remove the flashlight's tailcap, throw it in the {vulgar term for feces}bowl, yank that silvery handle on the front of the cistern down, and flush it away...O WAIT!!! YOU'LL NEED THAT!!! So just set it aside instead.

Tip the two used CR123A cells out of the barrel and into your hand, and dispose of or recycle them as you see fit.

Slide two new CR123A cells into the barrel, button-end (+) positive first.

Screw the tailcap back on, and be done with it.
Aren't you glad you didn't flush away that tailcap now?

Measures 777mA on my DMM's 4A scale.

This is an incandescent flashlight, but I don't yet know how to change the bulb when it blows out. So this section of the web page will remain empty until I figure it out.

The flashlight appears durable, but when I did "the smack test" (ten whacks against the corner of a concrete stair; five against the side of the tailcap and five against the side of the bezel (head)), it quit working.
I can't find any obvious damage to the flashlight itself, but the bulb looks burned out.

Since the flashlight no longer functions, I cannot continue testing until I find and obtain a replacement bulb for it.

TEST NOTES:
Test unit was sent by a fan of the website and was received on 03-23-05.
Flashlight was purchased for $10.48 in early/mid-March 2005.

UPDATE: 06-21-05
I received an email from a user of this flashlight this evening. Here is much of the content of that email:

I have had this flashlight for about 6 to 9 months. And today at my dismay the thing blew up in my bag, at first I thought some one was shooting at my Truck???. So buyer beware!

UPDATE: 08-18-05
I received another email from a user of this flashlight, and he had this to say:

Hi,
I was online looking for a place to buy a bulb for this flashlight, when I saw your websight with this exact flashlight. I'm writing to warn you and others that my flashlight got really hot and the rubber push button and plastic lense started to swell, and this was with no bulb in it, just the batteries. I unscrewed the battery end and it puffed like it was full of trapped air or something. I noticed one of the batteries had discoloration on the positive end like something was emitting from battery, smelled acidic.
I think the batteries which have the name Foresight on them made in China are defective and dangerous. I would recommend discarding the batteries for some "name brand" batteries.

UPDATE: 09-10-06
I have been asked on a number of occasions where to obtain replacement bulbs for this flashlight, and I just don't know.

UPDATE: 04-08-10
This *MAY* be the correct bulb for this flashlight: www.szwholesale.com...!!!
My thanks to M. M. for finding this!!!

UPDATE: 01-01-11
I was furnished with a link to an (apparently ongoing) listing on Ebay for somebody selling xenon-filled bulbs for this flashlight:
Click Here for Bulbs on Ebay!!!
My thanks go out to "Joe" for finding these!!!
FYI: He says that any 6-volt xenon-filled incandescent bulb with the same base will do the job here.

Looks like this is the first update to go up in 2011!!!

PROS:
Reasonable intensity for its size

CONS:
Not as durable as it looks
Eats its expen$ive batteries unusually rapidly
Can short out and even explode (this has been known to occur on multiple occasions!)
{this is, by far, what lopped the most stars from its rating!!!}
