To the best of my knowlege, these glasses do not have a formal name, so I'll just call them "glasses" on this web page. I was also unable to find the exact URL at the Wallgreens website these glasses are on, so I just furnished you with their home page.

What this product is is a pair of +1.50 diopter reading glasses that fit in a compact case, and the case itself has a white LED flashlight built right into it. That's one of the main reasons I purchased them - that LED.

 SIZE

Use these as you would any other reading glasses.

To use the LED flashlight in the case, locate the silvery colored button on the transparent end cap of the case, and press & hold it in for as long as you need the light. Release it to turn the LED off.

I haven't yet figured out how to change the batteries in this product, so I can't tell you to throw this part in the garbage can and throw that part in the {vulgar term for feces}bowl.

Photograph of the reading glasses case opened up, showing the two case halves and the pair of reading glasses themselves.

This product is meant to be used as a pair of reading glasses in a dry area, not as a flashlight meant to be carried around, thrashed, and abused; so I won't try to flush them down a toilet, bash them against a steel rod, let my housemate's kitty cat's ghost go to the bathroom on them, run over them with a 400lb Rascal, or perform other indecencies on them that a regular flashlight might have to go through. So this portion of the web page will be significantly more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.

The light has a noticeable bluish tint to it that most other 5mm white LED flashlights do not have.
The color you see in the photograph directly below is reasonably accurate at worst.
The color of the light is actually a bit bluer than is depicted in that photograph; opposite of most.

Beam photograph at ~12".
Measures 8,240mcd on a Meterman LM631 light meter.

Spectrographic plot
Spectrographic analysis of the LED in the eyeglasses case.
USB2000 spectrometer graciously donated by P.L.

TEST NOTES:
Test unit was purchased on the morning of 08-02-05.

Product was made in China. A product's country of origin really does matter to some people, which is why I published it on this web page.
