The Super-Bright LED Book Light is just that: an LED book light that clips to the cover of a book and illuminates the pages of that book when you're in a dark room.

The housing is composed of a silvery-colored plastic, and it features a super-bright white LED on a head that swivels a full 360° in either direction. It has a flip-up body that also swivels 360° in either direction, and a clip on the base fits the cover of just about any book you want to shove it in.

 SIZE

The book light is ready to use as soon as you remove it from the package.

Lift the middle portion of the housing up, and clip the base into the cover of a book. On the top of the unit, there is a small slide switch - slide it to the left to turn it on. Aim the LED head as you see fit - it is on a swivel so you don't need to worry about breaking it. Read your book as you see fit.

To turn the book light back off, slide the switch on the top of the LED head to the right.
Remove the book light from the book, and position all of its moveable components so they line up.

To change the batteries, slide the battery door/clip toward the top of the clip, lift it off, and set it aside.

If necessary, remove and dispose of or recycle the two CR2025 cells.

Insert two new CR2025 lithium coin cells into the holders, button-side (-) negative facing down.

Slide the battery door/clip back on; slide it until it locks into place.

Due to the way the product was constructed, I am not able to obtain a current usage measurement for you.

This product is meant to be used as a reading light in a dry area, so I won't try to drown it in the toilet, bash it against the corner of a concrete stair or a steel rod, let my housemate's kitty go wee-wee on it, run over it with a 400lb Rascal, or perform other indecencies on it that a regular flashlight might have to have performed on it. So this section of the web page will be significantly more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.
Most of the remaining content will just be the two photographs below.

I tested it with a magazine (16"W by 11"H when open), and although it did illuminated the pages adequately, I'd prefer to use it in a book with smaller pages, such as a paperback novel. I do not have such a book though (they were left behind after I moved on 10-11-04), so I cannot test the book light in that manner.

TEST NOTES:
Test unit was purchased at The Useful Things website on 05-16-05 in response to a telephone call I received earlier that day, and was received on the morning of 06-08-05.

I have since been informed that the person who asked me about it wants to purchase it, so I may not have this unit for too much longer.

Product was made in China. A product's country of origin really does matter to some people, which is why I mentioned it on this web page.

UPDATE: 07-28-05
The person who purchased it from me came to pick it up today, so I no longer have it.
Therefore, the icon will now appear next to its listing on this website.
