Valentine Flashing Pen, retail $2.49 (www.wallgreens.com)

Last updated 12-26-19
This is a very seasonal product (for Valentine's day). It is a ballpoint pen with a red plastic heart on the top that flashes when you click the writing tip out or back in.
SIZE
The pen is ready to use as soon as you pick it up out of the store display - there is no packaging of any kind.
Just press and release the red plastic heart on top of the pen as you would on a Bic Click or other similar pen. This extends the pen tip so you can write with it and also turns the flashing red LED inside the heart on. The LED will flash for 16 seconds and then automatically shut off.
This appears to be a disposable product; there's no obvious way to access or change the batteries in it.
This was intended to be a disposable product, so even if you do manage to break it, just throw it in the garbage can and go get another one. At $1.24 apiece (the amount I paid for it after Valentine's day), it certainly won't break the bank.
Because this is a disposable product and not a flashlight meant to be thrashed and abused, I won't try to drown it in the toilet, smash it against a concrete sidewalk, throw it against a wall, stomp on it, sit down hard on it, or otherwise abuse it. So this portion of the web page will be more bare than this section of the web page on a page about a flashlight.
Since this product automatically switches itself off, there are no external switches for you to fuss with or remember.
This pen writes in black ink, and writes with the quality found in most disposable pens.

Video on YourTube showing the pen in action.
This clip is approximately 2.0006572346 megabytes (2,152,808 bytes) in length; dial-up users please be aware.
It will take no less than ten minutes to load at 48.0Kbps.
I cannot provide it in any other formats, so please do not ask.
TEST NOTES:
Test unit was purchased for $1.24 at Wallgreens on 02-17-05.
Product was made in Taiwan. A product's contry of origin really does matter to some people, which is why I stated it on this web page.
