DREAM DIARY
If I remember the dream, it will live on here for everyone to remember.

12-17-13
In this nightmare, I was in a large city like Seattle, and I somehow noticed that a volcano was erupting. I poked my head out the window, and saw a rather queerly-shaped volcano ***VERY*** nearby that was belching smoke. The smoke was coming my way and I got a good whiff of it. It had the odour of burnt rock with a very strong sulfurous content -- that is to say that it was extremely stinky and foul. I've never smelled volcanic smoke in the waking world and never in a dream either until now, but I think that I had a reasonably accurate sensation of the stench in this nightmare!

Next thing I remember was being outdoors, trying to get away from it. I felt a couple of very small pieces of lava strike me in the shoulders; it was extremely hot (duhh, it's LAVA for Christ sakes!!!) and I wasted no time in brushing the tiny pieces away.

At one point, I had climbed a rather tall, very old building with a lot of exterior architectural features. I remember pulling a large rectangular piece of concrete off and watching it fall approx. 25 stories and crash rather noisily into what I believe was a metal garbage can (or it may have been a parked car). It dented the object that it struck (colored predominately grey and yellow) and sent up a small cloud of dust and debris.

I had reached an impasse (a tall exterior wall of some type I believe) and I heard somebody say that it was 83 feet of open space until the next handhold -- some other people were attempting to escape the volcano in the same manner I was.

My alarm clock then discharged, mercifully snuffing out this dream.

As an interesting (if not somewhat disturbing) side note, this is the second "volcano erupting very nearby" dream that I've had inside a week. That last one had a volcano erupting less than a mile away; while I did not smell anything, I could see the orange-hot molten lava rather clearly and I was attempting to escape it.
