DREAM DIARY
If I remember the dream, it will live on here for everyone to remember.
This site started in June '01; after each month a new page will go up & previous ones will be linked here.

NOVEMBER 06, 2006:
I only remember the tail end of this dream. And in this segment, I was either lost or on a campout, and my best friend from the early-1980s, John Robbins, was with me. We were both bedded down outdoors with just a single white blanket, and he kept hogging it. In the dream, I had to go #1 and I had a sore throat. When I woke up, I had to take a wee (no surprise there), but I also had a sore throat for real - which was a surprise, because I haven't had one in recent memory (at least several years). And I've never had a sore throat in a dream and then had a sore throat in the waking world.

NOVEMBER 12, 2006:
In this dream, a woman named Mavis was in my apartment, throwing potted plants out the window. She would not stop even when I asked her to do so - she was being a real douchebag. A short time later, a large, dark green oxygen tank somehow appeared by my front door, and her voice was issuing from it. Among other things, the voice said "I have your cell phone too". I struggled to get the tank to the manager's office and tell the manager about it (the manager looked and sounded a lot like LeBaron that I knew from the Six Eleven Tavern in Seattle WA. USA in the early-1990s), then I woke up.

Although the apartment was at the old Morrison in Seattle (it was a studio apt. with a single window that slid up - just like the apartment I lived in from 1989 through most of 1996), Mavis actually lived at the Market Village apartments, also in Seattle - approximately ten blocks north.

NOVEMBER 15, 2006:
A little background here first. The latest in the season I saw a dragonfly was on 10-12-76 in Juneau AK. USA; I then saw one here in Sacramento CA. on 10-25-06. In this dream, I dreamt that I saw one on 11-15-06 (today) - which would be, by far, the latest in the season I'd have ever seen a dragonfly.

NOVEMBER 17, 2006:
Most of the night's dreams were long gone by the time I woke up and darted for my Dream Diary. Note that I said "most", because I still remember one. In this dream, I was trying to catch a large flying insect in my studio apartment (like the one I had from from 1989 through most of 1996 in Seattle). After a few moments, I did catch it. I examined it, and saw that it was a very small (~2.0" wingspan, ~1.5" length) dragonfly, colored predominantly shades of blue. I think the wings were a translucent cream color. The eyes were sky blue and stuck out like the eyes on a damselfly do. I put it in a fishtank that had water in it, but it had a significant space at the top that was empty. The dragonfly flew right at the water's surface, but did not drown. I forgot the rest of the dream at this point.

NOVEMBER 18, 2006:
I dreamt that my friend Paul Casey had not passed away, and that I was still living at his house. In part of this dream, I was climbing a fixed ladder (that is, it was built into the wall); when I neared the top, I moved to my right and climbed down via some ornate decorations that protruded from the wall in such a way that I could use them as footholds & handholds. This landed me in another room - different from the room I was in when I began climbing the ladder.

I also remember something about the rental payments - that I would be able to continue making them even if Paul went to heaven. In real life, this would not have been the case - the rent alone was $950.00 per month (not counting other bills like electricity, water, natural gas, sewer, garbage, etc.) and I only receive $501.00 a month from Social Security.

NOVEMBER 20, 2006:
In this dream, I had a large handheld laser, not too dissimilar to this one (linked; you may click on the photograph to visit my page about this yellow DPSS laser module - yes - I actually own one!!!):

It produced at least several hundred milliwatts of yellow (593.5nm) radiation most of the time, but would occasionally turn green (532nm) and even blue (473nm) (these are all DPSS or "Diode Pumped Solid State" laser wavelengths). The beam divergence was quite high, and it would go into what is called "mode hopping" rather frequently; some of the modes it went to were TEM00 (Transverse Electromagnetic Mode 00), TEM01, and a few others, I remember it produced a hollow, diamond-shaped beam, and a toroidial (doughnut-shaped) beam among a number of others while it was mode hopping. I remember remarking to somebody that I was going to ask the laser expert Sam Goldwasser why it was mode hopping and changing wavelengths. I also remember shooting at fast-moving clouds at night with it to see the laser spot on the clouds themselves. During this, the beam on the clouds was circular with a sharp perimeter like a very tight spotlight, not with a gaussian power distribution like a laser operating in TEM00 would have. I believe it was also yellow for the entire duration I was hitting clouds and other distant objects with it.

NOVEMBER 22, 2006:
I had forgotten most of this dream by the time I was able to "finish my drink, down my smoke" - er - uh "finish my smoke, down my drink" (from the Anthrax song "Born Again Idiot"), but I do remember part where I had moved to Australia. I was outdoors, possibly on a park bench. The weather was pleasant - partly cloudy at worst with a temperature somewhere around 76°F (24.4°C). There may have been another person there, but I'm not certain of that.

NOVEMBER 27, 2006:
In this dream, it seems that I spent most of my time on a bus; the rest of it looking out a large picture window. In the "window" segment, I could see across a bay, like where I lived as a child in Juneau AK. USA; and in the "bus" segment, I remember we drove by an apartment complex called Cedar Park, which really exists in Juneau; yet I somehow knew I was in Seattle WA. USA. We then went under & past an apartment complex (or condominiums) where a number of the units just hung overhead, unsupported. I thought to myself how this structure would fare poorly in an earthquake because so much of it was overhead and unsupported. I also remember looking down toward a street where a "cabulance"-type vehicle was driving and attempting to park. Its rear & side doors were open, which is rather queer, because in the waking world, such a vehicle would never be moving with any of its doors open.
